Daniel Baggerly Finishes Fifth in Final Ultimate
Series Point Standings; Preps for Turkey 100
(RURAL RETREAT, VIRGINIA) The B&B Motorsports team found
themselves back in Super Late Model competition in the Ultimate
Super Late Model Series finale on Sunday, November 20 at the renowned
Cherokee Speedway in Gaffney, South Carolina. The 21st Annual
'Blue/Gray 100' was held on Sunday and a $10,000 payday was up
for grabs. Daniel Baggerly qualified well in time trials and was
leading the first lap in his heat race when he hit a rut, which
pulled the left rear tire off the rim.
Due to the bad luck in preliminary action, Daniel was forced
to take a series provisional to gain access into the 100-lap feature
event. He rolled off twenty-third on the grid in the 'Blue/Gray
100' and immediately pointed his new #16 Rocket racecar to the
front of the stellar field. Primarily utilizing the top side of
the racetrack, Daniel was all the way up to seventh when he was
caught up in a wreck involving leaders Dale McDowell and Jonathan
Davenport on lap 72. The Rural Retreat, Virginia native returned
to the track following the incident and salvaged a respectable
eleventh place effort. Following the completion of the Ultimate
season, Daniel found himself credited with a fifth place points
performance. Full results from Cherokee can be found online at
www.ultimatesupers.com.
Daniel and the #16 team will now turn their focus to their final
event of the 2011 season, which will be held on November 25-26
at the Swainsboro Raceway in Swainsboro, Georgia. The 11th edition
of the 'Turkey 100' will take place this upcoming weekend at Swainsboro
and a hefty $20,000 paycheck is on the line. Qualifying and heat
races for the Crate Late Models will take place on Friday night,
while the 'Turkey 100' will headline the weekend on Saturday evening.
